Mindfulness & Yoga Nidra Part-3

May 9, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Every other Thursday, April 11th, April 25th & May 9th.
2 gatherings each evening, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm altogether.

6:00pm – 6:50pm
“Reflecting on Mindfulness”
Guided discussion on mindfulness with Galen
Sliding scale: $5 – $25

This is an excellent gathering for discovering, nurturing, and deepening your mindfulness practice. Whether your interest is in yoga, meditation, mindfulness, or simply stress reduction, this gathering is for you!

Cultivating mindfulness in a group setting can help create an even stronger inner experience. And you’ll take home several tools and new experiences to help you carry your own mindfulness practice with you into your daily life.

Together we will practice several mindfulness techniques and share open discussions on the philosophy, science, and art of mindfulness, and refine our intention setting processes together.

Over the course of the series, we will explore some of these questions together, both conceptually and experientially:
– What is mindfulness and meditation?
– How can I get more out of meditation?
– How do I change my relationship with stress?
– How can I refine my intention setting process for easier more effective life
– How does mindfulness and stress affect our physical health?
– What does it mean to me to be healthy in mind, body, and spirit?
– How can I better share my mindfulness practice with others?

Then, stay with us to deepen your mindfulness practice even more and experience a restorative and healing “Mindful Yoga” and “Yoga Nidra” guided meditation, immediately following at 7:00pm.

7:00pm – 7:50pm
“Yoga Nidra with Galen”
Mindful Yoga followed by a yoga nidra guided meditation
Sliding scale: $5 – $25

This is an excellent gathering for discovering, nurturing, and deepening your mindfulness practice. Whether your interest is in yoga, meditation, mindfulness, or simply stress reduction, this gathering is for you!

WHAT IS YOGA NIDRA?
Yoga nidra is a sleep based meditation that uses a series of breath, body, and awareness techniques to restore balance to the nervous system. It is most often a guided practice that can help provide all of the health and well-being benefits of a more established meditative practice, without requiring the same kind of advanced training our experience.
Yoga nidra is used all over the world, supported by scientific research, to enhance general well being, and to help those suffering with PTSD, depression and anxiety, addictions, stress related illnesses, and much more.

We will begin with about 25 minutes of a restorative, mindful yoga session, and gently transition into about 25 minutes of a deep, healing, guided yoga nidra meditation.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
– Open heart & mind
– Wear comfy clothes to move in
– Yoga mat (some will be available to borrow)
– A light blanket, or sheet (some will be available to borrow)
– Water
– Thin pillow
– Eye mask or eye pillows are also recommended
