Improv Monday

Improv Your Life

Improv Your Life - Auroa Healing Arts, Gainesville, FL

The intention of this group is to utilize improvisational theatre and its core philosophies to facilitate our personal growth and healing. We will foster deeper levels of community, and have FUN while doing it.

Through an exploration of a wide variety of improv games, we will learn what it is to say “yes, and” to life, and navigate the challenges that arise when we resist that.聽

This group welcomes all experience levels. A common misconception about improv is that it is about being funny, quick witted, and clever. “Yes, and”, is the common core philosophy of improv. Improv is about collaboration, creativity, and learning to accept what comes to you, and carrying it forward in a supportive way. Healing and personal growth is a common bi-product of improv, as it allows us to confront so much within ourselves that we resist, and give it a platform to be revealed and released.

Unlike many improv groups, Improv Your Life will have no director per say. While it has facilitators to establish structure and flow, this is very much about everyone learning together as equals, supporting each other, and providing a safe space to be vulnerable so we can push beyond our traditional comfort zones.聽

This will be the first open gathering of this group, and will start with a meet and greet, and gradually move into a variety of short form improv games. We ask for a donation of $5-10 to support Aurora Healing Arts so that we can maintain its continued supportive presence in the community.聽

Depending on interest after this first open enrollment/info event, we will likely ask for an $60 membership fee, which will cover membership costs for 3 months. We will meet every Monday from 6pm-9pm.

Improv Your Life is co-facilitated by Ceth Ranney, Ember Rohlman and … You.

Parking is in the empty lot next door to Aurora or, if the lot is full, down the street in GRU parking.

We thank you and hope to see you at this unique and transformative event for fun and self-growth. Bring a friend. 馃槈
